Back in January Cuomo said we would forget about the law....well, did you forget about it?

03-Apr-2013

When Cuomo forced this law upon us on January 15, 2013 he said we would soon forget. We are almost 90 days past the trampling of our rights by this radical lunatic tyrant. I have not seen any sign of us forgetting what was done to us. People are still calling Albany, attending rallies, talking on social media, talking to friends and family, going to town hall meetings. Cuomo guessed wrong. He created an egregious crime against us, and we will not stop fighting him and his ilk in Albany.

From an article linked below:

Cuomo argued the damage wouldn’t be due to the unpopularity of the NY SAFE Act, but rather because the gun law’s passionate detractors would be more likely to express their frustration on the single issue alone.

“The issue is about a 70-30 issue. 70 percent of the people of the state saying they wanted gun control, etcetera,” he explained. “Within the 30, there’s a group that feels very strongly about it. You’ve been making their case quite eloquently for a number of days. They tend to be [from] Upstate. They tend to be conservative. … I know their opposition. I know they’re going to be displeased. I would expect that you’re going to see that in the poll. And that will be that. They will be unhappy.”

Cuomo also claimed that some of the opposition to the new gun policies–which include tougher restrictions on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines–was due to “anxiety” that will eventually go away.

Cuomo said gun owners are paranoid. Really? Why would we be paranoid, Cuomo? Why shouldn't we be paranoid, Cuomo? You stole our civil and Constitutional rights, and said confiscation was an "option." Why would we be paranoid?!?!?

In case you forgot, there are 12 more proposed laws looming that the democrats want to pass that would further tear up our rights:

1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"

2. Confiscation of ten round clips

3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons

So what do we do? We should continue to call, email, write to politicians in Albany. We need to keep the pressure on! DO NOT LET UP. May is the final month of the session, and we must keep the heat on throughout the whole month. Everybody must be involved. There is planning going on for a big rally again in Albany before the legislators go home for the summer. We must make them ALL remember that we did not forget...we will not forget..and we are engaged in this fight until we can remove as many of them as possible in the 2014 election. We have a call campaign being prepared for the whole month of May. Cuomo is counting on us to accept this legislative act, roll over and move on. HE GUESSED WRONG!

SCOPE will be filing our own lawsuit very soon. It will be imperative that we continue to fund raise and donate to SCOPE to keep our money reserves at levels that we can effectively fund the lawsuit and the political fund so we can donate to pro-gun candidates. Remember, SCOPE is a 100% volunteer organization and all our money is from member donations. Every penny is used to fight for our rights.

Cuomo is soooooo wrong if he thinks we will forget. Silver and Skelos will remain in shock at the backlash. I see the passion in people still burning hot, and it must remain this way forever.

Everybody fights, nobody quits!
